How cheeky junior began
It all started with one wooden rainbow. During Melbourne’s COVID lockdown, I bought a Grimm's wooden rainbow for my daughter, Paige, and quickly fell in love with the beauty of wooden and open-ended toys. What began as a personal passion slowly grew into Cheeky Junior, a place where I can share the makers and brands I truly love with other families.
Today, every product in our boutique is chosen with that same philosophy - to inspire imagination, creativity and meaningful play. Every product has been carefully chosen, not because it’s trendy, but because it inspires imagination, encourages open-ended play and is made to be treasures for years to come.
Our collection celebrates makers from Australia and around the world, from family-run workshops and talented artisans to internationally recognised brands. We believe children’s toys should be as beautiful as they are meaningful.
Of course, every new arrival is thoughtfully “tested” by Paige and Isla. If it doesn’t spark creativity, storytelling and joyful play, it simply doesn’t make it to our shelves.
Cheeky Junior is a truly family business. My husband Jun works behind the scenes keeping everything running, while I carefully source each collection, pack every order with love, while getting to know our wonderful community.
Opening our Camberwell boutique was a dream made possible thanks to the incredible support of families like yours.
