About the Maker

Yamegoma is handcrafted by Kumamoto Mokkosho, a sixth-generation family workshop in Yame, Fukuoka, Japan. Established in 1899, the workshop has spent more than 120 years preserving the traditional art of Japanese spinning tops while creating beautiful wooden toys that inspire children to play, learn and think. Every piece is carefully crafted by skilled artisans, honouring generations of Japanese craftsmanship.

Crafted from sustainably sourced local Japanese wood and finished with vibrant, child safe paints. Each spinning top is individually shaped, balanced and hand-finished by skilled artisans, celebrating the natural beauty and unique grain of the timber.
