A beautifully clever Japanese wooden spinning top with an unexpected twist. Designed with a unique cut-out shape, this special top flips itself over as it spins, gradually transforming the shape of a little tree.

Inspired by the changing seasons of Japan, each colour way represents elements of nature such as cherry blossom and autumn leaves. Children can enjoy watching the movement, experimenting with different spins and discovering the surprising moment when the top turns itself upright.

Colours available: Sakura (pink), Aoba (green), Momiji (red/orange) and Shirayuki (white)

Dimension: approx 3.5 x 4.5cm

About the Maker

Yamegoma is handcrafted by Kumamoto Mokkosho, a sixth-generation family workshop in Yame, Fukuoka, Japan. Established in 1899, the workshop has spent more than 120 years preserving the traditional art of Japanese spinning tops while creating beautiful wooden toys that inspire children to play, learn and think. Every piece is carefully crafted by skilled artisans, honouring generations of Japanese craftsmanship.

Materials & Finish

Crafted from sustainably sourced local Japanese wood and finished with vibrant, child safe paints. Each spinning top is individually shaped, balanced and hand-finished by skilled artisans, celebrating the natural beauty and unique grain of the timber.
